Vilnius SMK University of Applied Social Sciences together with Knowledge Code (VsI ,,Ziniu kodas”) organized eco-campaign “Eco Christmas” on 28th of November 2018. During this event participants found out how to make nowadays Christmas in more ecological way. Dialogue went very well, students was active in participation, because they agreed that often people buy expensive gifts, Christmas decorations, too much food for festive table so it increases consumerism which is not eco-friendly. During the campaign there were discussed problems that are “created” by Christmas, especially ecological issues related to decorations and gifts. Main topic was options of eco-friendly gifts: time spent with relatives, friends - different entertainment, ways of packing gifts without paper, situation with clothes (80 tones are thrown away after Christmas); how to decorate, buy and treat Christmas tree, decorations for festive table and also how to make meals for holidays in ecological way.
